Preparation of Ti-Al-Si Gradient Coating Based on Silicon Concentration Gradient and Added-Ce

Titanium and titanium alloys have excellent physical properties process are widely used in the aviation industry, but their high-temperature oxidation resistance is poor, there a thermal barrier temperature of 600 °C, which limits application as components. The Self-generated Gradient Hot-dipping Infiltration (SGHDI) method to prepare Ti-Al-Si gradient coating based on silicon concentration with compact Ti(Al,Si)3 phase layer, can effectively improve alloy. Adding cerium inhibit generation τ2: Ti(AlxSi1−x)2 within certain hot infiltration time so form continuous dense Al2O3 layer further coating. Studies found that multiple Ti-Al binary alloy layers formed during process, has effect isolating oxygen crack growth, improving performance.
